France logs 2.8m unemployed people in Q2

(MENAFN) The first quarter witnessed an unstable increase of unemployment in France, thus a rise in jobless claims, but things looked a bit better for the second quarter as the number of job seekers dropped.

France registered 2.852 million unemployed people in the April-June period, 0.3 percent higher compared to the same duration last year, according to National statistics institute's released data.

Despite the fact that there were 0.6 percent more older job seekers over the April-June period, the number of jobless youths aged 15-24 declined by 0.6 percent to 625,000 in the same period from a quarter earlier.
