Qatar shares end lower as index drops 38.75 points


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) index dropped 38.75 points or -0.34% on Thursday when it closed at 11,347.15 points.

The market capitalisation declined to QR 598.911bn from QR 601.71bn registered on Wednesday.

The daily turnover declined to QR 218.34mn with a volume of 5,668,645 shares from 3,490 transactions compared with QR 340.21mn with a volume of 7,576,261 shares from 5,549 transactions registered on Wednesday.

Four sectors' indices advanced while three declined.

Telecoms index gained the most, up +1.63% to 940.66 points. Insurance index dropped the most, down -1.97% to 4,595.5 points.

From the 43 companies listed on QSE, shares of 40 exchanged hands. Of these, 24 dropped, 15 gained and one remained unchanged.
