S. Korea's agriculture production surges 1.4 percent in 2014

(MENAFN) As an obvious output for the solid gain in the livestock sector, South Korea's agriculture production improved in 2014 from a year earlier.

Soaring 1.4 percent, total output of the farm division reached USD39.8 billion in 2014, based on the Ministry of Agriculture reports.

However, production of fruits and vegetables slipped in 2014 compared to 2013, mainly due to the lack of land cultivated for such produce.

"Livestock-related production shot up 15.7 percent to USD16 billion, driven by higher market prices for beef, pork, milk and eggs," said the Ministry of Agriculture.
