India- MSME Secretary inaugurates IP Facilitation Centre at Lucknow


(MENAFN- KNN India) To encourage and nurture innovative activities in the MSME sector, an IPR Facilitation Centre for MSMEs was inaugurated here on Tuesday by Anup K Pujari, Secretary, Ministry of MSME.

Speaking on the occasion, Pujari emphasised the role of innovation in a competitive world.

He mentioned that unless we take care to protect our intellectual properties like Copyright, Trademark and Geographical Indicator (GI), our competitors may exploit such IPs and cause injury to our business.

He mentioned that Government of India defrays part of the cost of registering such IPs.

"This Facilitation Centre would spread awareness among MSMEs located in the state of Uttar Pradesh and would be help to fill the void," he said.

On the occasion, the Minister of State for Skill Development Uttar Pradesh, Abhishek Mishra exhorted the entrepreneurs to strive for excellence and promised all help from the Government of Uttar Pradesh in the matter.

The IP Facilitation Centre was inaugurated in the presence of Alok B. Shriram, President, PHDCCI and Vishwanath, Chairman, Committee on MSME, PHDCCI. This centre will be located in the Office of PHDCCI in Gomti Nagar.
