Gunmen kidnap 18 Turkish nationals in East Baghdad
(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Unknown gunmen have kidnapped at least 18 Turkish workers from a construction site in east of the Iraqi capital of Baghdad.
An Iraqi police source told KUNA that gunmen driving modern vehicles abducted early today 18 workers of a company building a football stadium in Sadr City East of Baghdad.
The source added that the police were quick to impose a security cordon around the scene and began to search operations in the vicinity of the area. The incident comes despite the tightening of the security measures in the capital.
