Eurostar restarting train services after migrants spotted on tracks

(MENAFN- The Journal Of Turkish Weekly) Eurostar train services gradually resumed overnight after migrants were spotted on rail track inside the Channel Tunnel which connects France with Britain, the railway operator said early Wednesday.

A total of five trains were halted late Tuesday outside of the tunnel on both sides after several people were discovered on the tracks not far from the French city of Calais, the site of a large refugee camp housing thousands of mostly African immigrant.

"Trains ES9059, ES9161 and ES9063 headed for London are gradually getting on the move again," Eurostar said in a Twitter posting.

The tunnel was hit by a spate of traffic disruptions in the past two months due to repeated attempts by undocumented migrants to climb onto cargo trucks destined for Britain.
