Qatar- Kahramaa achieves safety milestone in transmission projects

Doha: The Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation’s (Kahramaa) Electricity Project department has achieved 47 million work hours without a Lost Time Injury (LTI) until the second quarter of 2015 from the beginning of the year.

The figure includes both Kahramaa and its contractors. The total work hours without LTI for the period was achieved at Phase 10 and Phase 11 of Qatar Power Transmission System Expansion Projects. During Phase 10 a total of 34 million work hours was achieved while 13 million work hours was achieved for Phase 11 of Qatar Power Transmission System Expansion Projects. This significant achievement is a clear reflection of Kahramaa’s commitment to ensuring that safety remains a core value in all its operations and activities the company said. The remarkable achievement became a reality as a result of Kahramaa’s ongoing commitment to safety security and through its stringent safety strategies systems processes and vigilant monitoring mechanism.
