Palestinian meteorologists hail Jordan's efficient weather forecasting


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Palestinian weather forecasters Tuesday hailed the accurate and professional work of the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD), and its role in supplying many Arab countries with highly qualified and experienced meteorologists Following their participation in a training program organized by the JMD and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) , Palestinian meteorologists said they will transfer the Jordanian experience to their country, mainly in climate data and database management fields.

This program is distinguished for its highly qualified and experienced instructors and the world meteorological standards, the director of the Palestinian Meteorological Network stations, Mohammed Abu bakar, told Petra .

According to the Director of Studies Division at the Palestinian Meteorological Department, Essam Dwaikat, Jordan is working to develop its data base system to provide opportunities for other meteorologists to acquire and apply the country's experience in the area of weather forecasting.

JMD Director- General, Mohammad Samawi, said the department has so far trained more than 150 people, from different Arab countries as it is keen to follow up with the latest progress in climate monitoring and weather forecasting centers.
