UAE's Federal National participate in meetings of the Preparatory Committee of 4th International Conference of Speakers of Parliaments

NEW YORK 1st September 2015 (WAM) -- The UAE has participated in the meetings of the Preparatory Committee of the 4th International Conference of Speakers of Parliaments which began yesterday at the United Nations headquarters in New York under the banner "Placing democracy at the service of peace and sustainable development: Building the world the people want".

Rashid Mohammed Al Shariqi Representative of the Arab Group at the Executive Committee of the Inter-Parliamentary Union IPU and a member of the UAE Parliamentary Division has participated in the meetings which will continue until tomorrow 2nd September. He also participated in the meetings of the Executive Committee of the IPU which were held yesterday at United Nation's Headquarters in New York.

The Preparatory Committee for the 4th International Conference of Speakers of Parliaments included 19 Speakers of Parliaments of various geopolitical groups in the IPU in addition to three members of the Executive Committee and the Secretary-General of the Union.
