Kuwait- 'Dire Need To Up Airport Security'

(MENAFN- Arab Times) "Kuwait International Airport connects Kuwait to all countries around the world due to which there is a dire need to increase airport security", reports Al-Rai daily quoting MP Nabeel Al-Fadhel as saying. He said Kuwait has a number of ports that links it with neighboring countries and these ports can be used either for the good of the country or against it, affirming that securitymen must be vigilant towards everything that is happening inside and outside the country. "Despite the importance of the airport, people have noticed that the security measures implemented there are below par because traditional security devices are still being used to maintain security at the airport.

Airport securitymen lack efficiency in carrying out their duties", Al-Fadhel lamented. He revealed that he submitted parliamentary questions to Minister of Interior regarding the quality of the security devices used in maintaining the security of Kuwait International Airport and if the ministry has a clear strategy for the improvement of these devices. He also urged for training courses to be organized for security officials working at Kuwait airport to build their security expertise.

Meanwhile, MP Abdullah Al-Turaiji requested Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khalid Al-Hamad Al-Sabah to put an end to the security breaches occurring at the border checkpoints and Kuwait International Airport especially after a number of individuals left the country on fake passports.
