Saudi- Unhygienic cosmetics factory shut in Riyadh


(MENAFN- Arab News) RIYADH: The government has shut down a cosmetics factory in Riyadh for using undisclosed raw materials and unhygienic process at its production facility.
A team from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry during a routine inspection found the plant used the suspect raw materials to reduce costs. The material could be harmful to human health an official said.
The official said the factory was placing the cosmetics in unusable containers. The factory was closed and the goods were seized on Sunday. The owners have been summoned for questioning.
The ministry's inspectors carried out the inspection in the Second Industrial City south of Riyadh. They found no trade data on the final product poor organization workers using manual packing methods and noncompliance with labor safety measures.
The violations include filling old bottles with sulfonic acid a worn-out site floor lack of safety equipment and sewage water and bird droppings in the production area.
