(MENAFN- The Journal Of Turkish Weekly) Sudanese President Omar Bashir will visit China on Monday to attend the military parade.
Sudanese President Omar Bashir, wanted by the International Criminal Court (ICC) over genocide charges, will visit China on Monday to attend the military parade, according to the Sudanese Foreign Ministry.
"The president will leave Monday for China on a four-day visit to attend China's celebrations of victory over fascism," the statement published Sunday read.
The ICC has two outstanding arrest warrants against Bashir, who is accused of genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes committed since 2003 in the Sudanese region of Darfur.
Under the ICC law, China can dismiss the international warrants, as only the ICC members are obliged to act on arrest warrants.
In June, Bashir was barred from leaving South Africa attending a summit of African leaders in Johannesburg, until the court ruled that the Sudanese president should not be handed over to the ICC.
