Kuwait- PIC Protection System Tackles Electronic Attacks


(MENAFN- Arab Times) Many electronic attacks have been confronted by means of periodically developing the information network protection system and constantly activating monitoring systems, Petrochemical Industries Company (PIC) announced on Sunday.

PIC's Director of Information Technology and Communications Sami Hamada said in an interview with a magazine issued by the company in the latest edition that petrochemical industry has a remote alarm system that helps warn and notifies employees if there is any suspicious activity in the network that requires rapid intervention.

Hamada added that the department of information and communications applied Project Gateway System (PGS) methodology in projects management that contributes to raising the level of quality and avoiding risks.

He stated that the company has arranged workshops with main suppliers of information technology systems in order to raise the employees' knowledge and inform them on IT communications updates.

About the major obstacles that are facing the department, he mentioned that there have been attempts to penetrate the network anonymously and negatively affecting the company's communication by cutting fiber lines.

Hamada said that there are many projects to help updating this department such as improving the information protection systems which helps to prevent any security breach, developing the alert system, enhancing suppliers and customers' gateway to serve them better in all fields, including their legal affairs.
