UAE- Khalifa Fund celebrates Emirati Women's Day

ABU DHBAI 30th August 2015 (WAM)-- The Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development has celebrated the Emirati Women's Day launched by H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak Chairwoman of the General Women's Union (GWU) Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation (FDF) and President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood.

During the celebration attended by Ibrahim Al Mansoori Chief Operations Officer and other personnel Suad Abdulla Al Fardan Executive Director of Support Services in the Khalifa Fund gave a speech in which she praised the contribution of Shaikha Fatima the Mother of the Nation towards empowering and development of women. She added that vital contributions made by women and their achievements in the UAE society owe a great deal to Sheikha Fatima who provided all kinds of support and encouragement to enable women to work to innovate and to excel.

Al Fardan further said the Khalifa Fund evinced a real interest in empowering women establishing their role and participation to the maximum. It enabled seven Emirati women to serve in top ranking positions holding 39 percent of the total positions in this category.

She added that not only the Khalifa Fund contributed in empowering women by recruiting them but also by supporting and empowering them to enter the world of business. It did so by providing financial and technical support and advice to them to start their own businesses. Women availed of 16 percent of the total funds provided by the Khalifa Fund during the last seven years.

At the end of the event Fatima Al Hamadi and Anood Al Mansoori were honoured in recognition of the excellence they achieved in their family professional and corporate spheres.
