Saudi- Officials meet patients at hospitals on the border
(MENAFN- Arab News) RIYADH: A high-powered team of officials from the Ministry of Health visited the hospitals in Jazan in the southern border to ensure services are in place to serve the patients in the region.
The group of officials comprising Dr. Nahar Al-Azmi Dr. Tarek Al-Arnoos and Adel Tash also met with the Yemeni patients and pilgrims who were being treated in the health facilities.
The hospitals visited by the team included King Fahd General Hospital Samtah Hospital Al-Harth General Hospital and Sharourah Hospital.
A Health Ministry spokesman told Arab News that the visit was to ensure that the services and medical equipment in various government hospitals in the region were in satisfactory condition to serve the patients in the hospitals in the southern region.
'There are some 60 hospitals in the Asir Najran and Jazan regions with 6500 beds' he said adding that all these facilities are equipped with state-of-the-art facilities.
The team visited outpatient and emergency departments to view injury and accident services blood banks and surgical theaters and also held discussions with doctors and patients.
The visiting team also conveyed the best wishes and greetings of the Health Minister Khalid Al-Falih to the people.
The MoH spokesman said the purpose of the visit was to ensure coordinated efforts by the Health Ministry in cooperation with the public and private sector enterprises
The Ministry of Health facilities in the southern region continue to provide therapeutic and emergency services and stands ready and to work round the clock to deal with any emergency.
The visiting team also interacted with the director of health affairs in various departments to analyze their problems and advised them on how they should be resolved.
