Two million visit Qatar's pavilion in Expo Milano: Ministry


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Qatar's pavilion in Expo Milano has emerged as one of the top 10 visited pavilions with two million visitors since the expo's launch in May, a statement from the Ministry of Economy and Commerce said Saturday.

The Qatari wing reflected the country's heritage and also displayed a commitment to preserving the environment as a key factor for achieving sustainable development. The pavilion hosted a number of cultural events that highlighted Qatar's past as well as the country's prospects for the future. Visitors received a special gift from the wing and expressed pleasure with the high level of organization at the Qatari section.

Expo Milano 2015 is the Universal Exhibition that Milan, Italy, is hosting from May 1 to October 31, 2015. During that period, the Expo will host more than 140 participating countries that will show the best of their technology and offers concrete answers to a vital need: being able to guarantee healthy, safe and sufficient food for everyone, while respecting the Planet and its equilibrium.

In addition to the exhibitor nations, the Expo also involves international organizations, and expects to welcome over 20 million visitors to its 1.1 million square meters of exhibition area, the Expo's website reads.
