Saudi- 88 firms to be named for violating law


(MENAFN- Arab News) TAIF: The Competition Protection Council intends to name some agencies and companies that were involved in commercial alliances to raise prices in various parts of the Kingdom which is a violation of the laws on competition. Violations were monitored by field committees of the council which have begun to investigate these issues.
The committee that investigates and rules on the violations of competition has issued a number of decisions that include the naming of 88 companies and the imposition of fines that exceeded SR350 million.
The companies involved dealt in rice beverage cement and medical equipment. The council for protecting competition said it will name and shame all companies involved in violations after the final rulings from the Board of Grievances are handed down.
