Dairy farming contributes 7 percent to New Zealand's total profit


(MENAFN) New Zealand businesses' overall operating profits were boosted by dairy farmers, who contributed a total of 7 percent.

On a larger scale, dairy and the other agricultural industries drove the total increase in profit to USD40.6 billion in 2014.

Dairy farming had the widest growth in operating profit, up USD1.23 billion in THE previous year after a significant decline in 2013.

"Over 70 percent of businesses made a profit in 2014, similar to the last year, although businesses were generally more profitable in 2014," said national accounts manager.
