Kuwait Win 1st Place In Arab Fencing Tourney In Jordan


(MENAFN- Arab Times) Kuwait's national team won the first place in the Arab fencing championship, under-20 and under-17, which concluded in the Jordanian capital Tuesday.

Kuwaiti fencers won three more gold medals in today's epee, sabre, and foil competitions, increasing their medal count to a total of 16 different medals, including eight gold, two silver, and six bronze.

Meanwhile, Ali Fadhel, team's coach, praised, in a statement to KUNA, his team's "distinctive" performance which enabled them to preserve their first place for the sixth consecutive time in this championship.

The Kuwaiti team included 24 fencers in the three categories, sabre, epee and foil.

Up to 200 fencers from Jordan, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Lebanon, Palestine, Algeria and Bahrain took part in the tournament.
