German-Iranian firm to build USD46m wind farm

(MENAFN) German-Iranian Arvand Company is planning to build a 48 megawatts wind park with an estimated cost of USD46 million in Iran's southwestern province of Khuzestan.

The wind park will be located in Arvand Free Trade Zone in the southwest of Iran and is expected to begin its operations by the middle of 2016, according to the project manager.

Iran is eventually aiming to boost its installed renewable energy capacity from just 150 MW at present to 5 GW in the next years in order to decrease its dependence on oil.
