Brazil stocks higher at close of trade Bovespa up 0.47%


(MENAFN- FxPro) Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Real Estate, Electric Power and Public Utilities sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa added 0.47%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Marcopolo SA (SA:POMO4), which rose 5.26% or 0.10 points to trade at 2.00 at the close. Meanwhile, BR Malls Participacoes SA (SA:BRML3) added 4.50% or 0.50 points to end at 11.60 and Gol Linhas Aereas Inteligentes SA (SA:GOLL4) was up 3.78% or 0.15 points to 4.12 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Gerdau SA (SA:GGBR4), which fell 3.18% or 0.15 points to trade at 4.57 at the close. Metalurgica Gerdau SA (SA:GOAU4) declined 3.10% or 0.08 points to end at 2.50 and JBS SA (SA:JBSS3) was down 3.00% or 0.42 points to 13.60.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange by 169 to 139 and 9 ended unchanged.
Shares in Gerdau SA (SA:GGBR4) fell to 5-year lows; falling 3.18% or 0.15 to 4.57. Shares in Metalurgica Gerdau SA (SA:GOAU4) fell to 5-year lows; down 3.10% or 0.08 to 2.50.

The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 2.79% to 50.58.
Gold for December delivery was down 1.20% or 13.80 to $1139.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 1.61% or 0.61 to hit $38.85 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract fell 0.41% or 0.50 to trade at $120.83 .
USD/BRL was up 1.53% to 3.6093, while EUR/BRL rose 0.53% to 4.1522.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.71% at 94.05
