(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Foiling a smuggling attempt Dhofar police in cooperation with ROP's Coast Guard arrested three Arab nationals in possession of 1390 packets of khat.

Foiling a smuggling attempt Dhofar police in cooperation with ROP's Coast Guard arrested three Arab nationals in possession of 1390 packets of khat.

They were on board a vessel in the Omani territorial waters off Dhofar.

The case has been referred to the Public Prosecution.

ROP's safety measures for beach goers

The Dhofar Police Command has taken several measures to ensure safety of beach goers in the governorate Brig Mohsin al Abri chief of the Police Command has said.

The measures include additional deployment on the beaches and patrolling by mounted police. Teams of civil defence personnel and divers are also keeping watch to prevent incidents of drowning.

Coast Guard boats too patrol the waters. Beach goers are being advised against going into the water in case of high tide or strong currents.
