SABIC distributes school bags around KSA
(MENAFN- Arab News) Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) has launched its back to school program in various regions of the Kingdom coinciding with the new school year. The program is being conducted in partnership with the Ministry of Social Affairs and in collaboration with the SABIC Employees Charity Fund (BERR).
The program targets 60000 primary and middle school students providing them with bags filled with basic school supplies. SABIC employees in Riyadh Jubail Yanbu Dammam and Jeddah along with a number of volunteers from outside the company participated in the program by helping to fill the school bags.
The BERR Fund collaborates with several charities as well as the Ministry of Social Affairs in distributing the school bags around the Kingdom.
The back to school program is part of SABIC's CSR strategy to serve the community. It goes in line with SABIC's CSR objectives which focus on education health care environmental protection water and sustainable agriculture.
The participation of SABIC employees in organizing this program demonstrates the importance attached by SABIC to volunteerism and its keenness to promote community awareness.
