Turkey denies media speculations on President's visit to US

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Turkish officials on Monday dismissed as groundless the media reports that the White House refused to schedule a visit to Washington by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Such reports are "unreal and baseless." The Turkish presidency made no official request for a visit by President Erdogan, Anadolu Agency (AA) quoted Turkish presidential sources as saying.
The Turkish Foreign Ministry will offer such a request once the decision on the visit has been made, the sources added.
Erdogan said on August 4 during an Asian trip that he planned to visit Washington in the next few months; it would be his first such visit since he took office as president in 2013.
