(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) The seventh session of Imam Al-Sadiq Mosque's bomb prosecution resumed by the Criminal Court - chaired by Judge Mohammad Al-Duaij - early on Tuesday, with the defence attorneys addressing the judges.
The defence plaintiffs, during the last session, held last Tuesday, made their statements in front of the court, which decided to alter the registered charges, namely complicity in the forms of incitement, consensus and providing aid to the prime suspect, Fahad Al-Qabaa - the bomber.
The latter was charged with using explosives with intention of killing, spreading terror, blowing up the mosque, committing premeditated murder, joining a banned group that advocates toppling the ruling system with illegitimate means, namely terrorism, thus threatening the country's unity.
The charges against others include advance knowledge of the planned murder, helping the "first defendant" - the driver of the car that boarded the suicide bomber - to flee, as well as concealing evidences.
The Public Prosecution has demanded extreme sentences against the defendants. In a previous session, the prosecution's representative had presented thorough details on case number 40/2015. They also provided visual evidence on the role of the 29 defendants in the blast, including hiding vital evidence and helping the driver, Abdulrahman Sabah Aidan, to escape.
The court had held its first session on the case on August 4th, to look into the cases presented against seven Kuwaiti defendants, five Saudis, three Pakistanis, 13 illegal residents and one fugitive with unidentified nationality.
The Imam Al-Sadiq Mosque in Kuwait City was attacked by the suicide bomber on June 26th during Friday prayer in the fasting month of Ramadan. The attack killed 26 people and injured 227 others.
