Oman- Huawei registers strong growth in sultanate: Report

Chinese telecommunication manufacturer Huawei has a strong market in Oman the company's 2015 performance report and market survey analysis shows. The company announced this at a media gathering at the More Cafe in The Walk at The Wave Muscat on Sunday.

The brand has registered an impressive year-on-year (YoY) growth of 69 per cent grossing a total revenue of US$12.7mn in the Oman Consumer Business Goods sector the report also shows.

Bill Yu director Oman Huawei Consumer Business Group (CBG) said 'Mid to high-end smartphones are the major profit drivers in these markets. If you look at the sales figures you'll see that in the Oman CBG the smartphone segment represents 52 per cent of the total revenue whereas the Mate7 makes up 23.7 of the segment's total revenue.'

He attributed this success to the company's core strategy of focusing on mid to high-end handsets which also significantly increased product shipment. Huawei's flagship device shipment crossed the 5mn mark with the P7 surpassing 7mn units and the Mate7 jumping well over 5mn units sold worldwide.

Assad Mohammad al Balushi terminal sales executive said 'The P8 continues to gain an uptake in global markets based on the solid foundation set by previous editions in the series particularly the Mate7 and P7. 'Defined as superlatively fashionable the P8 has clearly inherited the fashion DNA of its predecessors emphasising beauty and high-speed performance.'

He added 'The device's unique technology such as its high-resolution front camera incorporating the first four-colour RGBW sensor intelligent response function to locate a lost P8 thin and sleek design and smart software are features that push the P8 well ahead in the race of the world's most superior smart phone devices.'
