Omanis in private sector cross 206,000 mark

(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) The number of insured Omanis working in the private sector has reached 206348. Figures for end-July compiled by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) show that it includes 158950 men and 47398 women.

Also the number of Omanis in higher salary brackets has seen an increase. At 62461 a majority of Omanis were in the RO325-RO400 salary bracket. Of these 42388 were men and 20073 were women. There has been a decline of 0.5 per cent in this group compared to June. The number of Omanis paid between RO400 and RO500 has remained unchanged at 46547. Of these 40663 were men and 5884 women.

As many as 20640 Omanis (16878 men and 3762 women) draw a salary of RO500 to RO600. This number has decreased by 0.2 per cent compared to June.

However there has been a 0.5 per cent rise in those being paid between RO600 and RO700 with their number reaching 13677 - 11092 men and 2585 women. There has also been an increase among those earning between RO700 and RO800. With a 1.2 per cent increase over June their number till July-end stood at 8976 of whom 7077 were men and 1899 were women.

With a one per cent increase the number of Omanis earning between RO800 and RO900 has reached 6601 (including 4995 men and 1606 women). A rise of 0.1 per cent has been registered in Omani private sector employees drawing RO900-RO1000. Their number has reached 4944 of whom 3722 were men and 1222 were women.

Till July-end there were 18125 citizens in the RO1000 to RO2000 salary range. Of these 14499 were men and 3626 women. The number of Omanis who earned more than RO2000 stood at 7064 in end-July – 6316 men and 748 women.
