Qatar- Eight businesses in Old Airport area penalised

(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Eight business establishments in the Old Airport area have been penalised by the Ministry of Economy and Commerce (MEC) for violation of different laws.
The violations were detected during an inspection campaign conducted by the MEC as part of monitoring compliance of businessmen with the laws and regulations governing their commercial activities.
Inspectors from MEC fined the outlets for diverse reasons including conducting commercial activities not included in the licence, using expired commercial licences, and using part of the store for accommodation.
Inspectors fined the violators and issued mandatory notices against them to modify the conditions of their licences and commercial registrations.
"These surprise raids come within the framework of MEC's ongoing efforts to control markets and commercial activities in Qatar and to seize violators and disclose malpractices," a statement from the ministry said.
MEC has urged customers to report any violation pertaining to commercial licences through the ministry's following communication channels: e-mail: info@mec.gov.qa, social media accounts:
Twitter: @MEC_Qatar, Instagram: MEC_Qatar , MEC mobile app for Android and IOS: MEC_Qatar
Consumers can also submit their complaints through electronic systems installed in malls. These systems allow consumers to electronically communicate with the ministry in a direct way.
