Oman- SQU students complete QBG's internship programme


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) The Qurum Business Group (QBG) celebrated the completion of the first edition of its internship programme for  students of Sultan Qaboos University (SQU).

A press release stated that these students worked in different divisions of the QBG Group during the internship programme. The eight-week course was designed to familiarise the students with workplace environment and providing them hands-on skills by the company.

These students are currently pursuing different courses at SQU's College of Economics and Political Science. Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Ahmed al Hosni vice chairman and group managing director QBG said 'The internship programme is part of our long-term strategy to nurture and train students to provide them with the competence and valuable insight they will need to be successful in the future.'

He added 'QBG managers sat down with each student to ensure they are placed in the department that best aligns with their professional ambitions gave them on-the-job know-how as well as the opportunity to apply what they have learnt academically.' The interns said that the programme was an opportunity to gain exclusive know-how.

'They thanked the group and SQU for the opportunity and knowledge they acquired and expressed enthusiasm that the programme will serve as an inspiration to complete their studies and achieve further academically' the release said.
