Kuwait to establish cultural training center

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Chairman and members of board of directors of the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters (NCCAL) approved a proposal to establish Abdullah Al-Jaber Cultural Center for Training to prepare national cadres for serving in cultural institutions.
The new cultural center is part of cultural strategy developed by the NCCAL, implementation of which began earlier this year, Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs and NCCAL Chairman Sheikh Salman Al-Humoud Al-Sabah said in a statement after the council meeting.
Abdullah Al-Jaber Center will support the cultural work in the State of Kuwait by specialized cadres in various branches of cultural work and aims to train them to work professionally in various cultural institutions, Sheikh Salman Al-Humoud added.
The center also aims to build relationships with global organizations and institutes to exchange experience and provide technical support to the various cultural establishments in Kuwait, he said.
Abdullah Al-Jaber Cultural Center for Training, the first of its kind to be launched in Kuwait, is named after the late Sheikh Abdullah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah as a deserved honor for a pioneer figure of culture and education in Kuwait, designated by UNESCO for 2014-2015.
Authorities, namely Minister Sheikh Salman, have affirmed keenness on devoting particular attention to culture, as a means to promote public education, bolster attachment and faithfulness to the homeland and preserve the national heritage.
