Arab Parliament calls on UN to arm Libyan military


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Speaker of the Arab Parliament, Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Jarwan, called on the UN Security Council and the international community to allow arming the Libyan military to help it fight Daesh affiliate and protect its civilians.

According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), Al Jarwan condemned the Daesh terrorist group's violations and massacres it had perpetrated against innocent people in Libya, particularly in the city of Sirte, which claimed the lives of civilians and members of the Libyan army.

The speaker criticized the international community, particularly the UN towards Daesh massacres in Libya, despite recent efforts to solve the country's crisis, the SPA added.
