Kuwaiti duo scores 6.25 points at Amman int'l tennis tournament


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Hussein Dashti and Abdulaziz Mayouf, of Kuwait, scored on Wednesday five and 1.25 points respectively at the U-18 tennis contests of the Second Amman International Tournament.
The tournament, being held by Jordan Tennis Federation at Al Hussein Sport City here under the sponsorship of the International Tennis Federation (ITF), is a qualifier for the Davis Cup.
Besides Dashti and Mayouf, Kuwait's national team is made up of Ali Al-Herz, Hassan Jamal, Hadi Jamal and Faisal Bu Qurais.
Today's games saw Mayouf and his teammate Issa Shenan, of Qatar, quitting from the quarterfinals of the doubles' competition after losing to Jordan 1-6 and 7-6.
The team is gearing up for the next week competitions, hoping to proceed to advanced stages of the tournament.
