Kuwait- MoE Gets Ready For New School Year As Teachers Batch Arrives


(MENAFN- Arab Times) The committee tasked to prepare for the new academic year has started visiting schools to ensure smooth opening of classes, says Ministry of Education Undersecretary Dr Haitham Al-Athari. Al-Athari made the statement after visiting the new Ministry of Education building in Mubarak Al-Kabeer.

He revealed the building can accommodate about 600 workers and the management will inform the concerned departments in case there is any defect prior to the final hand over. He added there have been demands to expand the parking space around the building but nothing has been finalized in this regard until now. He also confirmed the arrival of the first batch of teachers recruited from abroad, indicating the others are expected to arrive in the coming days in time for the beginning of the new academic year.

He stressed the ministry has been taking the necessary measures to guarantee that everything is in order a few days before the opening of classes, including the distribution of books, management and education authorities. Admitting some issues were raised during the preparation stage, he explained the administration has nothing to do with these problems which are under the jurisdiction of other departments. He cited as an example the cancellation of the air conditioning system contract for Jahra Educational District due to certain legal issues.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Education (MoE) has started looking into complaints from those who failed in the exams for occupying supervisory positions, reports Al- Anba daily quoting sources. Sources said the ministry officials have confirmed several times that the rights of anyone who complains will be protected. Sources disclosed the deadline for submitting complaints on the exam results was on July 16 and July 30 for complaints related to the interview. Moreover, sources explained the complaints on the excellent job performance allowance will be received electronically once the allowances for all beneficiaries are paid.

Meanwhile, the Development and Improvement Department has started identifying the actual training needs to be included in the administrative training plan for fiscal 2016/2017 in different sectors at the ministry. Sources said the department has asked the Public Education Sector to provide for the general and specialized training needs of public education sector employees, while stressing the need to submit the name of the proposed training program and its purpose. . . . KUWAIT CITY: Kuwait Ports Authority (KPA) organized the entrance and exit procedures for trucks at Shuwaikh Port after noticing an increase in the number of complaints from truck owners and those frequenting the port and the Free Trade Zone, reports Al-Rai daily.

KPA Director General Sheikh Yusuf Al-Abdullah issued a decision prohibiting all kinds of trucks from parking, plying through or staying on the road leading to the power station and other spaces affiliated to KPA without obtaining the customs statement and authorization. Sheikh Al-Abdullah also warned that in case of failure to abide by the decision, the truck will be impounded and the owner will be referred to the concerned authorities. He urged all land transportation companies, agents, contractors and owners of trucks to strictly adhere with the directive; pointing out that trucks parked at the entrance of the port usually cause traffic jams in the area.
