Kuwait Wins 3 Prizes In US Contest


(MENAFN- Arab Times) Kuwait's Sabah Al- Ahmad Center for Giftedness and Creativity (SACGC) won three scientific awards while taking part in the 11th Fab Lab Conference and Symposium (FAB 11), currently held in Boston, Massachusetts, USA, the center announced Tuesday.

The participating Kuwaiti team returned home today after winning awards in the scientific content for Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Science (KFAS), which saw participation of around 400 lab representatives from around the world. These achievements are so unique for Kuwait and Arab states level, SACGC said in a press statement, adding that the center's effective participation at the event is a crowning for all its scientific and technological efforts since its formation.

During participation, the Kuwaiti team also held a symposium on a robot program and snowball unit, in addition to a workshop on uses of these technologies, said the statement. The SACGC was established in May 2010 as an initiative by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmed Al-Sabah, in an effort to support and nurture gifted and talented Kuwaiti individuals.

The establishment of the Center comes hand in hand with the country's Strategic Development Plan. It embodies Kuwait's commitment to encourage gifted and talented youth, highlight their achievements, promote cultural innovations and advancements in the Kuwaiti society, and build a clear path towards greater participation in the advancement of human knowledge and achievement.
