Qatar- Weather office forecasts hotter days with high humidity

(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Qatar could bask in even more soaring temperatures over the next several days, predicts the Met office. It will be hotter than the present weather from tomorrow until August 26, with temperatures peaking at 48 degrees at places on Tuesday and Wednesday. Those will be the hottest days.

The weather bureau said yesterday that temperatures from tomorrow until August 26 will be between four to seven degrees higher than the average for the current period (40.7 degrees).

In a special bulletin the bureau said that the maximum temperature in the above-said period is expected to be close to mid-forties in Doha, and more in southwesterly (Abu Samra, etc) and central areas.

The rise in temperatures until August 26 will be due to deep low Indian monsoon pressure over the Gulf region, associated with southwesterlyy wind which will be light to moderate in speed, said the bureau. As for humidity, a weather forecaster told this newspaper that the levels will be high today and tomorrow and in the days that follow.

He said that today, humidity levels are expected to range between 85 and 90 percent and tomorrow, the maximum could reach up to 90 percent.

He said the temperatures would begin easing a bit from August 27 onwards.

Yesterday, the humidity levels were 70 to 75 percent. According to the forecaster, as a result of high humidity the weather will be much hotter.

Meanwhile, in the routine weather forecast for today the Met office said that the maximum temperature will vary from 39 degrees (in Al Ruwais) and 45 degrees (Abu Samra). In Doha, it will be 43 degrees.

The minimum or nightly temperature, on the other hand, is forecast to be between 29 degrees (Abu Samra) and 33 degrees (Messaieed and Al Wakrah). In Doha, it will be 32 degrees.
