Mahira keen to do dark roles
(MENAFN- Arab News) KARACHI: We have seen Mahira Khan in positive roles however the talented actress wants a challenge and doesn't mind taking up a negative role.
In a recent online Q&A with fans for Desi Rants n Raves Mahira expressed her interest in accepting the challenge of portraying a negative character on-screen. 'I would love to play a negative role and wouldn't mind changing my appearance for a role' she said while replying to one of the questions.
When asked whether she would be seen taking up a negative role in the future Mahira responded: 'After Shehr e Zaat I took up Bin Roye and had to let go of most projects because of it. But in the near future would love to play 'old negative heavy' characters!'
One of her most recent performances that of Saba in Momina Duraid's Bin Roye had some negativity attached to it. Mahira expressed the following: 'Bin Roye's Saba was a complex role to play thought it would be interesting to play a character who was layered.'
'Characters stay with me at times take over me. Saba stayed with me and she was the one I wanted to leave the quickest in fact Saba was a difficult character maybe because she was darker darker than any role I've done at least.' The leading actress is not only interested in a dark role but is also interested in a comedic one if given the chance.
'I haven't done much comedy in fact I'd say none really I'd love to try that out next' she said.
