(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) The weekly report of Ministry of Manpower's (MoM) joint inspection team has said that 339 expatriate workers were found violating the Labour Law between August 9 and August 15.
These included 261 commercial workers 42 farm workers and 36 housemaids and their equivalents. Inspection teams caught 331 workers of whom 175 had been declared absconding 139 were retrenched and 17 had other violations registered against them.
The most number of violations were recorded in Muscat governorate where 124 cases were reported. North Batinah came next with 55 Labour Law violations recorded. Concerned authorities in MoM are taking the necessary legal action against the violators. MoM statistics also showed that 289 expatriate workers were deported for Labour Law violation.
