Nine Palestinians Drown after Boat Capsizes in Turkey's Territorial Waters

(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Nine Palestinians were killed after a boat carrying Palestinian refugees capsized en route to Turkey.
According to Lebanese National News Agency, the nine people were killed when a boat, which left from Lebanon's northern port of Tripoli carrying Palestinian migrants, sank in Turkey's territorial waters.
The agency added that one of the survivors said the boat was carrying 40 Palestinians from the Yarmuk Syrian camps in Damascus, who had temporarily taken refuge in northern Lebanon.
The boat departed from the Port of Tripoli on Monday and sank shortly after reaching Turkey's territorial waters due to overloading, the survivor said.
"The Turkish coast guard assisted other survivors and took them to nearby hospitals," he explained.
