Kuwait condemns UAE Embassy occupation by Houthi militia in Yemen

KUWAIT 19th August 2015 (WAM) -- The Kuwaiti government has strongly condemned the occupation of the UAE Embassy in the Yemeni capital Sana'a by the Houthi militia vowing to stand by the UAE in all its actions in order to preserve its interests.

Kuwait News Agency KUNA reported that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a statement said that "the act was a violation of all international laws and norms connected with diplomacy and is a clear violation of the 1961 Vienna Convention on diplomatic relations."

The Kuwaiti Ministry also called on the Houthis to withdraw from the Embassy and stressed the importance of ensuring the safety and security of employees.
