German employment rate up by 0.4 in Q2


(MENAFN) Employment in Germany rose the second quarter at its slowest pace in a year, overall people employed in Europe's biggest economy edged higher by 0.4 percent during the April-June period compared with last year.

The quarterly increase came after 175,700 persons where employed in the second quarter to raise total employment to 42.8 million, still the quarter's rate of growth was the weakest since the three months ended June 2014, when it jumped 1 percent.

The average number of hours worked per person in employment rose 0.2 percent to 323.1 hours in the second quarter compared with the three months ended June in 2014.
