Egypt condemns occupation of UAE embassy in Sana'a by Houthi

CAIRO 18th August 2015 (WAM)Egypt's Foreign Ministry has condemned the occupation of the United Arab Emirates embassy building by the Al Houthi group in the Yemeni capital of Sana'a.

In a statement issued on Tuesday the Egyptian foreign ministry said that such attacks would strengthen the Arab Coalition's resolve to continue its noble mission of supporting stability and restoring security in the brotherly Republic of Yemen.

It described the occupation as an unacceptable violation of international conventions and norms and of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations of 1961 and called for the immediate withdrawal of the Al Houthi group from the embassy premises and for maintaining safety and security of the embassy members.
