Qatar stock index drops 64.19 points


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) index dropped 64.19 points, or 0.55 percent, when the bourse closed trading at 11,670.50 points Tuesday.

The daily turnover decreased to QR190.29m with a volume of 4,158,700 shares from 3,321 deals compared to QR169.77m with a volume of 3,509,637 shares from 2,650 deals on Monday.

The market capitalization decreased to QR616.03bn from QR619.63bn registered Monday.

Indices of six sectors ended in red and one in green today.

Banks and Financial Services index dropped today by 0.66 percent to 3,093.74 points. Insurance index decreased 1.16 percent to 4,772.53 points and Telecom Index declined 2.85 percent to 1,030.65 points. While real estate index gained 0.35 percent to 2,734.07 points today.

QSE Total Return Index decreased to 0.55 percent to 18,140.12 points, QSE Al Rayan Islamic Index lost 0.27 percent to 4,544.41 points and QSE All Share Index dropped 0.52 percent to 3,117.66 points.

Of the 43 companies listed on QSE, investors exchanged shares of 41. Of them, nine gained, 25 went down, seven remained unchanged.
