Jordan- Police arrest 37 persons, seize stolen vehicles in northern Badia


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Security forces, on Monday, raided several hideouts of wanted persons in a northeastern desert (Badia) area, arrested 37 wanted suspects and seized 8 stolen vehicles.

The media center of the Public Security Department said police have been collecting information about a number of suspects in northern and eastern desert areas and identified their location where they used to hide stolen vehicles and negotiate their owners for the return of the stolen vehicles in exchange for money.

A total of 37 suspects were arrested and 8 stolen vehicles were seized, in addition to large quantities of various firearms, ammunition, amounts of narcotics and other seizures.

Later, the ministry of interior issued a statement in which it commended the crackdown as qualitative and reflects authorities' resolve to uphold the rule of law and safeguard security and safety in all parts of the Kingdom.

The ministry stressed that citizens remain 'key partners' in protecting the kingdom's security and stability.
