Turkish airlines net profit jumps 66 percent to USD232m in Q2


(MENAFN) Turkish Airlines amplified its net profits by 66 percent in the April-June period from the same period of 2014, to USD232 million, therefore its net profit increased to USD364 million in the first half of 2015.

The company also increased its sales revenue by 11.5 percent to USD2.4 billion in the second quarter compared to last year, thus growing by 9 percent to USD4.3 billion in the first half as opposed to the same period of the previous year.

The company said it expected higher demand in the third quarter due to two religious holidays, in its assessments over the year-end budget, plus it forecasted some relief in pressure over the lira, which will help the firm further more.

During the period of January-July 2015, the total passengers carried by Turkish Airlines improved by 10.7 percent, reaching 34.4 million passengers, compared to 31 million passengers for the same period of 2014.
