DOHA 18th August 2015 (WAM) -- Qatar has condemned in the strongest possible terms the occupation of the UAE embassy in the Yemeni capital Sana'a by the Houthi group yesterday.

Qatar News Agency QNA reported that the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement released today that the occupation by Houthis of the UAE embassy is considered an infringement of the laws of all concerned with the protection and immunity of diplomatic missions and a flagrant violation of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations and international legislation.

The statement called for the Houthis to evacuate the building and immediately hand it back to embassy staff saying "This act is a further evidence that the group which committed this attack does not show any regard or respect for international conventions and diplomatic norms as it practices jungle law."
