UAE envoy in Beirut meets UN secretary general's representative in Lebanon

BEIRUT 17th August 2015 (WAM)Hammad Saeed Sultan Al Shamsi UAE Ambassador to Lebanon has met United Nations secretary general's representative to Lebanon Sigrid Kaag.

During the meeting they discussed the latest political developments in Lebanon and the region focussing on the repercussions of the existence of the huge number of Syrian refugees in Lebanon.

The UN official commended the humanitarian role shouldered by the UAE in Lebanon.

The UAE ambassador referred to the UAE's humanitarian and developmental aid to Lebanon of which the last was the provision of drinking water to15 Syrian refugee camps in the middle Beqqa area during the summer.

He underlined that the UAE strategy is clear for all as it backs the Lebanese government and people as well.
