(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Quality Group International has announced the opening of its new outlet, Quality Mall, in Doha's Al Hilal area on Thursday evening.
The announcement was made by Shamsudheen Olakara, chairman of Quality Group International, at a press conference on Sunday. Aboo Navas, general manager, retail division; Mins Mathew, group finance controller; Shahid, executive manager, retail division; and Rayees K, manager, media and public relations, were also present.
"We opened our first hypermarket here in July 2010 and, since then, have never changed our priorities. We continue to see considerable opportunities for expansion and development opportunities here as we open the sixth retail project in Doha, Qatar," the group chairman said.
He stressed that the new outlet, located in the heart of the city, would provide a "unique shopping experience" to both citizens and expatriates in the country. "The mall has two floors with a total area of 125,000sqft. A wide variety of products and brands will be available at the mall, catering to the tastes and preference of customers from all walks of life," he explained.
The ground floor features a number of shops and kiosks, including a pharmacy, an optical store, flower and chocolate boutiques, coffee shops, ATM counters of leading banks, automatic utility payment machines, exchange houses and beauty parlours. It also has a spacious supermarket for food and other grocery items.
Shops for mobile phones, watches, fashion items, garments and readymade items, footwear, home furniture and décor, stationery and fashion jewellery, among others, are part of a department store.
The first floor is also designed for various electric, electronic, IT and technology products, as well as home appliances, from leading brands around the world.
The mall has "spacious and convenient parking", with underground parking and basement shops being its special features. A number of promotions and price discounts will be announced for the inauguration, especially for the electronics, food and non-food sections. These will continue for three more days.
The chairman also disclosed that the group would open two more retail projects in Qatar in the near future.
"One will be in the last quarter of this year at Rayyan, while the other will be launched in Al Khor next year. Quality Group International has one full-fledged retail outlet in Bangalore, India, and our second retail project in Bangalore will be opened next month," he said, adding that the group would also open a mall and a hypermarket in Kerala in 2016.
