Belgium- Cycling: Tim Wellens Retains Tour of Benelux Title

(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Belgian rider Tim Wellens (Lotto-Soudal) wrapped up his second Eneco Tour title by finishing safely in the pack as BMC's Manuel Quinziato won the final stage to Geraardsbergen from the breakaway.
Quinziato, 35, took his second Eneco stage nine years after his first in 2006 as he outwitted his two breakaway companions Bjorn Leukemans (Wanty-Groupe Gobert) and Yves Lampaert (Ettix-Quick-Step) with an attack on the final climb.
Tim Wellens had grabbed the overall race lead by winning Saturday's 208.6km sixth stage from Heerlen in the Netherlands to Houffalize in Belgium.
Wellens, 24, clocked 26hr 31min 5sec after the week's race to finish top ahead of compatriot Greg Van Avermaet, who was overall second at 1min 59sec, with Dutch rider Wilco Kelderman third at 1:17.
Quinziato won the final stage in 4hr 18min 18sec in a race for the line ahead of Belgian riders Bjorn Leukemans at 0.03sec and Yves Lampaert at 0.08.
