Kuwait, Italy Discuss PM's Visit


(MENAFN- Arab Times) Kuwaiti Ambassador to Italy Sheikh Ali Al- Khaled Al-Sabah and advisor of the Italian President Emanuela Dgalessandro discussed the upcoming visit of the His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah next September.

The meeting aims to prepare for His Highness's visit to Rome and Vatican, where he will meet with Italian President Sergio Mattarella, the ambassador told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on Sunday. The discussions dealt with the strong ties and cooperation between the two countries, mainly in light of the prominent visit of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al- Sabah to Italy in 2010, he added. Meanwhile, the advisor on her part hailed the ever developing Kuwaiti-Italian relations in all fields, noting the successful visit of His Highness the Prime Minister in September 2014 to her country.

The official also expressed appreciation for Kuwait's role in the Expo Milano 2015 and the current "Art of the Islamic Civilization" exhibition, held in Italy. Meanwhile, head of Kuwait's delegation to Expo Milano 2015 Faisal Al-Mutalaqim met with heads of the sections of countries participating in the exhibition on Sunday to share experience. Al-Mutalaqim in a ceremony had received 25 officials of participating countries including the GCC departments, Italy, USA, Japan, Germany, China, Mexico, Malaysia, Kazakhstan and Brunei, head of Kuwait's section Faris Al-Anezi told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA).

Al-Mutalaqim had taken his guests on a tour at the Kuwaiti section to learn of the country's history and achievements, mainly in the humanitarian field, said Al-Anezi. Al-Mutalaqim on his part had noted the importance of participating in the Expo, as it is a chance to share experience and exchange different views on current issues facing the world, including development, environmental topics and sustainable resources. Expo Milano 2015, a global showcase of more than 140 participating countries, aims to show the best of what technology has to offer in terms of providing concrete answers to vital human needs such as safety, food security and sanitation. The expo also involves international organizations and expects to welcome more than 20 million visitors.
