Arab Parliament condemns ISIL atrocities in Libya

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) The Arab Parliament strongly condemned Sunday recent terrorist attacks carried out by the Islamic of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) in the city of Sirt, Libya, that killed several civilians and Libyan army staff.
Arab Parliament's President Ahmad Al-Jarwan expressed, in a statement, his surprise towards the international community's inaction towards ISIL's atrocities despite recent efforts to ink a deal on ending the Libyan crisis.
Al-Jarwan demanded the UN, UNSC, and the international community to allow arming the Libyan national army to enable it to face ISIL's terrorist operations and protect the unarmed civilians, calling ongoing situation in Sirt as "very difficult" where civilians face atrocious massacres.
He also called the Arab League to take urgent and tangible procedures during next meeting, slated for Tuesday, in order to end the current crisis to preserve Libya's safety, unity, and people.
